Meet the Write On for Israel Staff
Linda Scherzer, Director
Linda Scherzer has been Director of Write On For Israel/NY since it was founded in 2002. She is a former Mideast correspondent for CNN and covered the first Palestinian uprising, Gulf War and Oslo Peace Process. She is also Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest CRC (Community Relations Committee), the government relations and Israel advocacy wing of the Jewish Federation.
Katie Goldberg, Assistant Director
Write On class of 2015. Graduate of Macaulay Honors at Queens College (Anthropology, Business and Liberal Arts, Health Sciences). Current student at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing (A2D). The David Project Intern, National Student Board Member 2016-2019.
Julian Biller, Senior Advisor
Write On class of 2015. Graduate of Rutgers University (Jewish Studies & Political Studies), Julian served on the Hillel Student Board in addition to the Hillel International Student Cabinet. He has worked with Diller Teen Fellows and United Synagogue Youth. Julian currently works as the Director of Engagement for USY of New Jersey.
Jordanna Yochai, Advisor
Write On class of 2017. Senior at the University of Chicago majoring in Political Science and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago Journal of Foreign Policy. Runs and competes in collegiate Model United Nations committees.
Spencer Kaplan, Advisor
Write On class of 2017. Senior at Duke University majoring in Public Policy, Political Science, and Earth and Ocean Sciences. Founder and author of News of the Jews. Co-chair of the Duke Program in American Grand Strategy.
Yoni Nirenberg, Advisor
Write On Class of 2016, is a fourth year student at the Long Island University- Brooklyn majoring in Pharmacy, minoring in Biology and Chemistry, and working on a few other degrees at once. He plans to concentrate in public health and international humanitarian aid in the Middle East and at the United Nations. Yoni has been an active member of his campus community as Israel Engagement Chair, Junior Governor on Student Government.
